When you use Olik Split, we may collect the following information:

• Account data — email address, display name, optional username, and avatar URL (provided during sign-up via Google Sign-In or email/password registration).
• Expense data — amounts, descriptions, categories, dates, group associations, recurring expense schedules, and budget settings that you create within the app.
• Device tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens used to deliver push notifications to your device.
• Notification history — records of push notifications sent to your account (title, body, read status).
• Audit logs — we log certain account actions (e.g. creating or modifying expenses and groups) along with your IP address for security and abuse prevention purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide core functionality: creating groups, tracking expenses, calculating balances, and managing budgets.
• To send push notifications about group activity (new expenses, settlements, reminders).
• To maintain audit logs for security, fraud prevention, and debugging purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In — for authentication via your Google account (using Android Credential Manager / Sign In with Apple on iOS).
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — for push notifications.
• Google ML Kit / Apple Vision — for on-device receipt OCR (images are processed locally and never sent to our servers).

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on a PostgreSQL database hosted on a secure server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All communication between the app and server uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, solely to provide app functionality.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Export your data in a portable format.

8. Children

Olik Split is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
